A snippet is a short piece of code that identifies your project, connects it to Mailocator, and ensures that your campaigns run.
Installation on Shoptet platform
If your store is running on Shoptet, please go to /engage/shoptet
Procedure for installing the snippet
To insert a snippet, we recommend using Google Tag Manager (GTM), which is a popular tool for managing components on websites. Using GTM, you can embed a snippet into any site, even a store running on Shoptet, without having to activate a separate add-on.
You will very likely already have GTM
active on your site, if you are unsure, ask your webmaster or agency. Adding a snippet is a breeze for them.
Procedure for GTM
Go to https://tagmanager.google.com/ and sign in with your Google account.
Click on the New Tag banner - Add New Tag
Click on the banner Tag Configuration
Select Custom HTML from the tag type selection.
In the following dialog, add a launch rule - All Pages
Name your tag as Mailocator
In the top right corner click on Submit and then Publish
This completes the adding process.
Procedure for adding Mailocator directly to the site
Open the page template for editing
Find the HEAD
tag
Insert a snippet before the end of the tag
How do I know if Mailocator is installed correctly on my site?
If the snippet is inserted correctly and is running - may be subject to cookie consent - you should see traffic on your site in the Mailocator project in the Monitoring app.
If you want to be sure or check the Mailocator version, we recommend you check the functionality in the browser console where you must see the Mailocator signature, for example:
How do I open the browser console? In Chrome, use the Alt+Cmd+C
keyboard shortcut on Mac, Ctr+Shift+J
on Windows. All browsers have a console, shortcuts and menu locations may vary.
