Filtering by text content on the page

The text content filter allows you to run or suppress a campaign based on specific text that is visible on the page. It is useful when URLs, titles, or other technical parameters cannot be reliably used, but the page contains distinctive text (e.g., "I agree to cookies," "This website uses...," a specific headline, etc.).

The filter only takes visible text into account and distinguishes between upper and lower case letters, so the text must be entered exactly as it appears on the page.

Where is it best suited?

Use this filter especially when you need to respond to the presence of other elements or campaigns on the page:

If there is a cookie bar on the page and you do not want your campaign to be displayed at the same time.

When you want to suppress campaigns in the presence of third-party text (e.g., another pop-up, widget, notification).

When a specific message, notification, or banner appears on the page and you do not want to further disturb the user while it is displayed.

If you need to target a page based on unique text in the headline or box, but the URL or title are not sufficiently different.

What does it solve?

The text content filter helps prevent situations where multiple elements overlap on a page at once – typically a cookie bar + your campaign, or multiple campaigns from different tools. The result is a cleaner interface, a less distracting impression, and less risk that the user will simply close everything because they don't know what to focus on.

Best practices

Look for a short, clear text phrase that appears only in that element on the page (e.g., a specific heading, sentence, or button).

Remember that case sensitivity matters-enter the text exactly as it appears on the page.

Use this filter as a supplement-ideally in combination with the URL, page title, or audience-to fine-tune situations where there is a risk of collision with other content.

After setting up the filter, test it on a real page and verify that the campaign only responds in the situations you intended.
