Target Campaign by Screen Width and Operating System

Why use this setting?

Restricting by screen width helps prevent visual issues and ensures that campaigns are only displayed on devices for which they are actually suitable. It contributes to a clean user experience—mobile device users are not shown campaigns intended for large screens, and vice versa.

This setting does not replace responsive campaign content. Responsiveness and campaign behavior on different devices can be conveniently set directly in the Mailocator editor. The screen width filter is used more to restrict display on specific types of devices than for general layout adjustments.

Where does it work best?

Use screen width and operating system restrictions in situations where the campaign is intended for a specific type of device or non-standard scenario:

Large-format campaigns intended exclusively for desktops or wide screens.

Special campaigns for specific devices, such as presentation or information screens in showrooms, kiosks, or at events.

Mobile-specific campaigns that take advantage of the features of a given platform.

Campaigns tied to an operating system, such as calls to download an app for iOS or Android.

Best practice tip:

Only use the screen width filter when you need to explicitly allow or exclude a specific resolution. For general campaign customization across devices, use the responsive settings in the editor.
